Privacy Policy

In short: Tyniy works entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no network connections. Your photos and videos are never uploaded, and we collect no data about you.

What we collect

Nothing. Tyniy doesn't collect, store or send personal data, usage data, device identifiers or crash reports. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and no third-party SDKs.

How your photos and videos are handled

• On your device: compression runs locally. Tyniy makes no network connections, so your files never leave your Mac, iPhone or iPad.
• Only what you choose: Tyniy works on the photos, videos, files and folders you add to it, and on the folders you ask it to watch on the Mac.
• Replacing originals: when you choose to replace originals, they are moved to the Trash on the Mac or to Recently Deleted in Photos on iPhone and iPad, where you can restore them. Files on an SD card or a drive connected to an iPhone or iPad are overwritten in place, after you confirm.
• Metadata kept: capture date, location, camera details and color profiles carry over to the compressed files, so they stay in your photos as before.
• Temporary copies: working copies are kept in Tyniy's private storage while you compare or save results and are removed when you clear the list or when the system cleans up.

Permissions

• Photo library (iPhone and iPad): to show the photos and videos you pick and to put the smaller versions in place of the originals. iOS asks you to confirm each batch before anything in your library changes.
• Files and folders (Mac, iPhone and iPad): to open the files and folders you select, including SD cards and external drives, and to save results where you choose. On the Mac, Tyniy remembers access to watched folders so it can keep working on them.

You can change or withdraw these permissions at any time in System Settings on the Mac or in Settings on iPhone and iPad.

What stays on your device

Tyniy stores your settings and a running total of files compressed and space saved. These stay on your device, are never sent anywhere and are deleted when you delete the app.

Shortcuts and Finder

The Shortcuts action and "Compress with Tyniy" in the Finder right-click menu pass the files you give them to Tyniy on the same device. Nothing is shared with us or with anyone else.

Apple

Tyniy is distributed through the App Store. Apple may collect information about downloads and, if you've agreed to share it, crash reports and app analytics, under Apple's Privacy Policy. We only see anonymous, aggregated figures from Apple.

Children

Tyniy collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. This meets the requirements of the GDPR, the CCPA and similar laws by design. Deleting the app removes everything Tyniy stored on your device.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the date above.
